PowerWorld Trainer is a new flexible multi-user operations training platform.
A central server manages the power system model and training scenarios. One or more clients may simultaneously interact with the simulation environment. Trainer is simple to customize for company-specific power system models and training requirements. It supports:
- full breaker topology – use the actual EMS model, not a simplified planning equivalent;
- multiple one-line diagrams and graphical system representations;
- customizable monitors and alarms;
- conditional remedial action schemes (RAS);
- multiple simultaneous participants: generation dispatchers, transmission operators, etc.; and
- time-step simulation for changing system conditions and creating system events to which operators must respond
