Travel Information

Several airports serve the Champaign-Urbana area. The Champaign Airport (CMI) is only minutes away and taxi service is available. You might also consider the Bloomington Airport (BMI), which is about 55 miles (about 60 minutes) from Champaign and offers more frequent daily arrivals and departures. If you prefer to fly into a larger airport and drive to Champaign, we recommend the Indianapolis International Airport, especially if you are able to arrange a direct, non-stop flight from your home airport. At 125 miles, it is closer than Chicago and you will experience much less traffic on the ground. Chicago’s O’Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW) airports are 155 and 130 miles to the North, respectively. (Driving time from Chicago is about 2½ hours in light traffic, but may be significantly greater in heavy traffic.)
