Directions Display
Multiple directions can be studied in both the Power Transfer Distribution Factors (PTDF) tool and the Available Transfer Capability (ATC) tool. The Directions Display will appear in each tool when the options are set for studying multiple directions. The Directions Display is a case information display that allows you to insert, delete, and modify directions using options available from the display's local menu. When directions are modified or inserted individually, the Directions Dialog will be displayed for entering the information. In addition to individually defining directions, they can also be automatically inserted by selecting the Direction records > Auto Insert Directions option and using the Auto Insert Directions dialog.
The following available fields are of note:
Name
A unique name given to the defined direction. This is the key field used to identify each direction.
Source, Source Name
The object type and name of the source.
Sink, Sink Name
The object type and name of the sink.
Include
Set to YES to include this direction when used with multiple direction PTDF or ATC calculations. Set to NO to ignore this direction.
Processed Multiple PTDF
Specifies if the direction has been processed for a multiple direction PTDF analysis. This field is only applicable when running multiple direction PTDF analysis and will not be changed when running multiple direction ATC analysis.
ATC Validation
When running multiple direction ATC analysis, this field will contain any errors encountered while validating directions prior to running the analysis. Only directions with the Include field set to YES will be validated. If any direction has an error, the entire ATC analysis will not run until all errors have been corrected or the directions with errors are set to Include = NO.
