PowerWorld Simulator 15 with
Transient Stability Add-On
The version 15 of the
educational version of PowerWorld
Simulator with Transient Stability is
now available for free download. With
growing amounts of wind generation, and
more PMU installations, we think most
would agree there is growing need for
engineers to understand the transient
stability problem. A key goal in the
development of this transient stability
package was to make learning this
important skill as easy as possible. To
help get you started, we’ve developed a
“quick start” slide set along with
example cases that will walk you through
solving cases with subtransient level
machine models, exciters, governors,
wind generation, and induction motor
loads. Several sample cases with up to
37 buses are included. This free
educational version allows the solution
of cases with up to 42 buses. A
version of the 100,000 bus version is
also available to commercial users. For
