What's in the Retriever 14 Patch?
Note: Retriever is built on
top of the Simulator Product Line. As a result, changes made to
Simulator will affect Retriever as well. For a list of changes
made to Simulator 14 see the Simulator 14
patch description. The changes listed below are of particular
importance to Retriever.
The PowerWorld Retriever 14
patch addresses any problems found in Retriever 14 following its
official release in March 2009. New features are also added in
the patch as appropriate.
The patch was first
introduced on March 16, 2009.
The Retriever patch was last
updated
January 6, 2012.

New Features/Minor
Improvements:
- (April 8, 2009) Added ability to view alias subscriptions by the
type of object subscribed to. This then allow the viewing of all
fields associated with the subscriber as well.
- (May 27, 2009) Added the ability for alias subscriptions to
return string results.
- (June 4, 2009) Also added a field to give the subscription
priority. This priority accurately reflects the order in which
values will be chosen if available from a data source. This is only
relavent if multiple aliases are subscribed to the same field.
- (September 29, 2009) When reading a text file data source and
encountering a null character, the read of the file was aborted
after the null character. This has been modified to skip the invalid
null characters and properly read the data source.
Bug Fixes:
- (April 28, 2009) Fixed access violation which occurred having
the Retriever Control panel open while opening a new case.
- (May 6, 2009) In the Image Exporter, the ability to export
images to ONLY a non time-stamped file name was added.
- (May 20, 2009) In the Image Exporter was not properly exporting
images when Emphasis was being used. This has been fixed.
- (June 4, 2009) Fixed a bug that occurred when reading an aliased
data value from a data source that wasn't declared as actually
containing that alias. This caused a 0 to be read and marked at up
to date, which was not correct.
- (July 23, 2009) Fixed a problem where the load field would grab
the bus' aggregated load value and display that during real-time
mode.
- (September 11, 2009) Fixed an error which would not allow the
Custom String values for Branch objects to be seen in Real Time
mode.
- (September 29, 2009) Fixed a problem where line status would
appear as the number "1" or "0" in real-time mode instead of
"Closed" or "Open".
- (September 29, 2009) Fixed potential issue with branches
appearing as dashed to signify open when they were not actually
open. (related to previous bug fix).
- (November 2, 2009) Circuit breaker symbols were being drawn as
"open" if they were closed, but de-energized. This has been fixed so
that circuit breakers continue being displayed as closed even when
they are de-energized.
- (December 1, 2009) Fixed the model population so that voltages
are populated first, then statuses, then voltages are propagated
within superbuses and then finally the remaining real-time values
are populated into the model. This ensures that the superbuses are
set properly according to statuses before the topology is used to
set voltages within superbuses. This wasn't guaranteed previously.
- (December 1, 2009) Fixed the model population so that branch MW
and Mvar flows are automatically calculated after model population.
- (December 22, 2009) Fixed Model Population error related to
changes on December 1. Error was related to incorrectly determining
which buses were disconnected.
- (April 27, 2010) Force pie charts to be shown in real-time mode
if max flow checkbox is checked in oneline options and a
subscription exists on *either* end of the transmission line.
- (April 29, 2010) Calculated Fields were not properly treating
blank unretrieved values. Unretrieved values were alwasy considered
zero even if the calculated field specified they should be ignored.
This has been fixed.
- (July 16, 2010) Changing the status of a branch while in Run
Mode was not working properly in Retriever.
- (September 28, 2010) Fixing bug with flow arrow size calculation
when subscribing to limits.
- (October 15, 2010) Made changes so that Retriever doesn't
automatically populate subscription limits with limits from the
model since subscription limits override limits from the model.
