What's in the Retriever 13 Patch?

Note: Retriever is built on top of the Simulator Product Line.  As a result, changes made to Simulator will affect Retriever as well.  For a list of changes made to Simulator 13 see the Simulator 13 patch description.  The changes listed below are of particular important to Retriever.

PowerWorld Retriever 13 Patch addresses any problems found in Retriever 13 following its official release in October 2007.  New features are also added in the patch as appropriate.

The patch website for Retriever was first created on October 5, 2007.

The Retriever patch was last updated August 21, 2009.

New Features/Minor Improvements:

  • (December 12, 2007) Added a new script command LoadAXD("AXDfilename", "onelinefilename", CreateIfNotFound)
  • (May 15, 2008) When exporting a oneline as an image using the Retriever Image Exporter, the contour color key is now included if visible.
  • (May 15, 2008) When exporting any oneline as an image, the Retriever Time Stamp is now included if visible.
  • (May 22, 2008) Changed the Retriever Control Panel to show in the Windows task bar when open. This makes it a lot easier to find the window when it gets hidden behind the main window.
  • (August 8, 2008) Added support for subscriptions to supplemental data records.
  • (April 8, 2009) Added ability to view alias subscriptions by the type of object subscribed to. This then allow the viewing of all fields associated with the subscriber as well.
  • (June 4, 2009) Also added a field to give the subscription priority. This priority accurately reflects the order in which values will be chosen if available from a data source. This is only relavent if multiple aliases are subscribed to the same field.

Bug Fixes:

  • (February 14, 2007) If a keyboard shortcut is executed to open a oneline embedded within the currently active oneline and a oneline isn't currently active, now Simulator will chose to embed in the last active oneline.
  • (March 12, 2007) Fixed potential problem when setting the oneline diagram to Display Only. Retriever was sometimes trying to perform a power flow solution even though it was in Real Time Mode.
  • (April 16, 2008) Small zero-byte files were sometimes created when starting Retriever. This has been eliminated.
  • (April 16, 2008) Fixed error when contouring a Calculated Field when in Real-Time mode. The contour was always showing all values as zero.
  • (April 25, 2008) On the aliases wild-card search form, the drop-down showing the list of datasources was not working properly. This has been fixed.
  • (May 15, 2008) Fixed a bug where alias expressions weren't getting initialized properly after having been created using the dialog.
  • (June 13, 2008) Fixed error in SolveConsolidatedPowerFlow to allow line flows of a reclosed line to be updated based on the consolidated solution.
  • (June 23, 2008) Fixed problem on the Alias Subscription when using Expressions. The dialog would not always refresh correctly when choosing aliases from the drop-downs to define the expression variables.
  • (August 8, 2008) When writing out subscription information to an Retriever Configuration Auxiliary File, the number of decimal places for various fields has been increased so that we do not lose precision when writing them.
  • (September 8, 2008) Fixed an error on the wildcard search dialog for aliases. A form was being shown behind another form so it could not be seen.
  • (October 31, 2008) Fixed access violation which occurred when saving the internalize to model fields to auxiliary file from Underlying Data Model display.
  • (May 6, 2009) In the Image Exporter, the ability to export images to ONLY a non time-stamped file name was added.
  • (May 20, 2009) In the Image Exporter was not properly exporting images when Emphasis was being used. This has been fixed.
  • (June 4, 2009) Fixed a bug that occurred when reading an aliased data value from a data source that wasn't declared as actually containing that alias. This caused a 0 to be read and marked at up to date, which was not correct.
