This version is licensed for educational use and evaluation purposes only.  It includes most of the available Simulator add-ons (Available Transfer Capability (ATC) , Optimal Power Flow (OPF), Security Constrained OPF (SCOPF), OPF Reserves, PV/QV Curve Tool), and can handle small cases containing up to 12 buses. The full version of Simulator can handle systems with up to 100,000 buses.

This is a freeware program designed to make it easy to exchange power flow cases. You can view a solved power flow case graphically using animated one-lines. Some example one-lines are included in the download and additional examples are available at the FERC 715 Filings page.

OPS-X, a joint effort between PowerWorld Corporation and PowerSmiths International Inc.,  is a new concept in electric power system training.  OPS-X training exercises utilize the new time-step simulation feature of Simulator on a simplified PowerWorld platform.   The training is targeted to fulfill the NERC Emergency Operations requirement and areas that are expected to be required under the new NERC System Operator Credential program.  We offer a free version of the software to allow operators to practice and familiarize themselves with the platform.  For more information on OPS-X, please see www.opsxpert.com.
